Last year I finally agreed with my parents that TV in general was rubbish. SO one cold afternoon we ripped the aerial out of the loft and removed all the cabling and cancelled the TV License.

However with the motorsport season starting again I don't want to miss out on some of the racing action. However I doubt I would use it for much more than that :(

Can some of you convinve me that it will be worth it (beyond the BBC services I already use etc...)

I'd sell it to you if i believed it was good, but tv is off now, and has been for the last 4 hrs.. what can i say

I never used to watch tv considering there was nothing good on. I went out and got a freeview box for £35 and I love it. E4 is great. ITV2 is sweet.

The best reason to get freeview is E4 tbh. Yeah the other channels are ok, but a lot of the time its the same old, same old.

I don't have topup tv - dont think it is worth it for the little you get. Oh and for some reason, using my pc dvb card on PC, I get the audio from Television X but not the video (dammit..) :p

freeview is alright imo, better selection of channels than just the standard 5, but for me sport is about the only thing i watch on tv so sky is the only way to go.

Picture quality is good if you live in a reception area. Choice is OK. Programme selection on Top Up TV sucks, but if you must, then you must. If you want it, get it. If you don't, don't. Anything else is just marketing hyperbole and to be ignored - just like adverts really. :)

Frankly, British Eurosport annoys the hell out of me, so I only watch when I have no choice. This is the 21st century and we have digital audio for heaven's sake, so why do the commentators sound like they've not advanced beyond the AM radio?
