Sell Freeview/Topup TV to me

i'll do the opposite

tv is crap, adverts spoil it big time, i dont have tv anymore, i just go to the pub to watch sports when they're on!

not watched tv since i started uni

Don't you need a TV licence if you have a computer, or rather a monitor, in your house? Or are you not posting from home?

In any case I certainly get a lot out of TV. If you never watch though, I guess I can't see any point.

Considering Freeview is... free, apart from the intial box cost which is only £30 for a basic one, there's no real reason to have TV but not freeview.

Top up TV is pretty naff though... UKGold is good but not really worth a monthly fee on its own.

Buy a TV guide this week and look for at least 1 thing you would like to see everyday, if you can't do that then you're probably not going to get anything out of it. You can always watch the racing at a mate's house.

The best reason to get freeview is E4 tbh. Yeah the other channels are ok, but a lot of the time its the same old, same old.

I don't have topup tv - dont think it is worth it for the little you get. Oh and for some reason, using my pc dvb card on PC, I get the audio from Television X but not the video (dammit..) :p
 You perv! (but 10 minute freeview is good)

If your equipment is capable of receiving TV signals, you need a license. Whether you actually watch TV or not is irrelevant. A monitor is not capable of receiving a TV signal (unless it's got a TV tuner inside it, of course).

the signal from a Freeview box (digital) does output a better picture than standard analogue...

Discovery channel on TopUPTV isnt that great... the other channels are next to useless. Only get it if you want Television X but you'll have to pay a separate subscription fee.

we cannot literally "sell" it to you outside MM though :o

So if i bought a TV and took a screwdriver to the recieving nubbins i could presumably not pay for my licence?

LOL

All you need to know is the Video and Audio PID's :p Seriously lame encryption that even a newbie sat hacker can circumvent. Also they haven't changed the PID's for over a year!! lol

Yeah, or you could just detune all the channels and unplug the aerial.

If it's not tuned in, you don't need a license (e.g. for using it for games consoles/DVDs)
