Selling BF3?

This thread reminds me of why I gave up PC gaming and now just stick to the old classics which are cheap or solo developed games which are fun.

I got burned far too many times buying a high price title as it was either rubbish or not what I expected. I couldn't sell it and was stuck with an expensive coaster.

Sticking to the old classics or cheap games means I still enjoy them and if they're rubbish I've only wasted a few quid.

Your the hero that gotham needs.

That sucks ass! The nvidia site said I could run it on just less than high, but it isn't even properly playable with everything on the lowest.

Gutted.

You haven't got HBAO enabled sapping your performance? If the game is actually unplayble then there is an issue you need to address as your spec would give good performance on medium and the game still looks amazing on the lower detail settings.

Have you updated to the latest drivers? Uninstall the ones you have, use driver sweeper or something similar to remove the left overs (while in safe mode) then reinstall the latest beta drivers from Nvidia as they seem to work well with BF3.

I've had weird driver problems before where games don't behave as they should even after attempting to remove the left overs with driver sweeper, and have had to do a complete Windows reinstall also and driver install to get things smooth again. Pain in the ass, but depends how desperate you are to play the game on your PC. :)

my mate runs a q6600 with 4gb off ram and 9800gtx gpu no problem.

PS I am on a I7 920 at 3.4GHZ, 6Gig memory, 2*GTX280 on SLI , also running the game from a 500MB/s SSD getting 400MB/s transfer rate, it runs great on my PC, also have a DELL 27" at 1900 * 1200 Resolution. PS have you followed the advice on here http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18338806.
