Time has come to bite the bullet and sell my Multistrada 1200S... Bad news is, I need it gone within 2 weeks. Apart from the usuals, any other ideas outside of ebay, piston heads, auto trader and forum?

I'm selling under market simply to get it gone :(

I'll give ya a fiver for it ;):D

Probably the best way to sell it quickly is price it low and advertise it everywhere.

Mcn, gumtree are 2 other places.

Hmmm, I don't want to drop too below market. But yea, I'll have to take a hit. My own laziness has cost me greatly :(

call in at loacal bike shops and ask if they are buying any in,they will offer you less than private though, they offered me 3k for my zx10 but I think ill wait till next summer

As mentioned previously gumtree, sold my DRZ on there earlier this year, was a relatively painless sale, one timewaster and second viewer bought it, took 2 weeks, but that was pre-season when everyone is looking to buy and haggling is tougher for the buyer.

I think you know you're trying to sell it at the wrong time :(

Loads of bikes coming up for sale, as the summer is well and truly over. Lots of people want their bikes gone before xmas.

Other than that it's getting a dealer to take it off your hands, but they'll be pulling your pants down, proper.

Guess your option is to gumtree/mcn/bike trader/ebay classified for 2 weeks, if it don't shift, get some prices from dealers. Or Ducati/Multistrada forum?

Use ebay, write a solid well worded advert and price it just under all other equivalents. I have done this upwards of 10 times and never taken more than a week to sell anything, I sold my 2001 ZX6R within 6 hours of being posted on ebay just under a month ago!

Very sad to see it go. It's why I've put off selling it. Such a perfect bike in my opinion and I can't wait to buy one again.

Sad to hear you got to let it go. But despite your past problems with it you still want to get another one:D
What made you decide on getting another one in the future?

It's really hard to describe, I've owned some bloody great Ducati's (748S x2 and a 1098S, oh and a Monster for a short period). All of which were absolutely brilliant.

But this, yes it annoyed me as the problems it had were at the worst possible times! No, it's not passion, it's a bloody pain in the arse.

But when it worked... What a bike! From a fun blast on a Sunday morning in sports mode to cruising for 100's of miles (did 700 motorway miles from Geneva to Reading in one day) in touring mode, it just does what you ask of it.

Perfectly executed every time. I truly think it's the perfect bike for the roads in this world. Sure, the GS is just as good, but not when the pace picks up. The Multi just destroys it in the bends and speed/acceleration. But sadly, if you're going to South Africa and need something that can cross deserts, then the GS is the option.

So, I will, 100% buy another Multistrada in a year or 2. It's my dream bike. Even with it's bad timing that I've had.

Fella you need to edit your ad ASAP as it's misleading, the rules have recently changed with regards road tax, as soon as you sell a bike the road tax is automatically refunded back to you, so there's no way your selling it with 12 months tax on it. :)

From 1 October, when you buy a vehicle, the vehicle tax will no longer be transferred with the vehicle. You will need to get new vehicle tax before you can use the vehicle.

The new owner sorts it, and you automatically get any remaining full months refunded when the change of owner goes through at the DVLA.
