selling drive best way of formatting drive

Hi all

I am selling a hardrive and wanted to know what is the best way to format a drive so it can not be recovered at all by the other buyer.

Download DBAN or Active Killdisk.

Probably okay to just do a full format in Windows a couple of times.

best way is to write data over the entire drive a few times

but a long format should be good enough now a days (win7/8)

thanks all thought you might of needed some sort of software to make sure the data can not be recovered
