Hi

I want to sell a 1oz gold Krugerrand (and blow it on a pc upgrade). Has anyone had any dealings with bullion companies. So far I'm looking at Bullion by post and the Gold Bullion Co. I did go to a local jewellers but they tried to rip me off.

Cheers

Gold traders paid rather well, but you can get a preview price before you send it off.
Though with bullions your probably best selling it to a bullion company!

I've sold gold in the past and use Hatton Garden Metals - google them. Todays price for selling a full kruggerand to them is £762.65.

You're nuts selling a krugerrand and will regret it later on in life. Mark my words.

Not really. I don't know the exact price of his Krugerrand as there are different ones with different prices, but lets pick a ball park of £800. Is that really going to change much in the future in a positive way ? No. It could even go down in value. He only has one to sell, so no big deal.

Well, I might be nuts but I've just been diagnosed with Barretts Oesophagus so although a small chance of becoming cancerous there's still a chance (5% lifetime). I want to get the benefit now.

Sad to hear that. Still a 95% of being in the clear. Stay positive man. Sell that gold and upgrade your PC ! :D

Yea it sucks. Apparently I've had silent acid reflux for years and its burnt some of the oesophagus away. The worst thing is change of diet...no more alcohol, chocolate or coffee/tea!!! My neighbours had the same thing for 20 years for hopefully should be OK. I have to have an endoscope every 2/3 now. So a new pc should cheer me up :)

Hadn't realised gold was so high now. I bought a few coins a few years ago for around £250 each. Not selling them though as they are a gift for the kids. Most places that sell coins will also buy them but obviously at a lower price than sale.

Don't change your life for a 5% risk. There is more chance of something else killing you before that ever happens. If it turns cancerous then just deal with it at the time (I survived cancer in 2011 and wouldn't panic).

there is also goldline aka baird (in london). you just ring them up to arrange a price, post it to them, and you get the money in 3 days direct to your bank acc.
All the dealers will give you a similar price, just avoid jewelers and those 'sell your gold' place.

Hatton garden metals. Sold a 3.5 oz chain there a few months back, they send you a prepaid envelopr and you return the gold and they give you the price you were quoted. Simples and painless

£838.92 Argos voucher (roflmao)

LOL

there is a rather quick arb you could do at that place for £40 of vouchers - they've got a Krugerrand for sale for £800... If you happened to want something from argos anyway - buy it off them then sell it back for the vouchers :D

to be fair their spread doesn't seem as bad as I'd have assumed

Sell the kruger and buy a british sovereign. Its smaller and is tax free, the difference will let you buy what you need while leaving some improvement in your position possible

Kruger was 1,000 not that long ago
