Selling my Iphone 4 - Need a backup

Hi,

I'm switching to android for a bit and as my iphone is a bit of a wreck after a recent accident I've decided to recycle it. I'm planning on sending it off tomorrow but I'd like to have a backup of everything(particularly texts), for sentimental reasons if nothing else. I'd like to be able to access these from my PC. Is there any way to do this? Also, my data cable is playing up a little, I can move pictures across but sometimes it cuts out. Are there any apps etc to let me do it through wifi?

Not too sure on the text situation Dan but in regards to pictures etc can you not just use icloud and then access through your PC and if you go over the memory allowance, delete what you already transferred and do it again for the rest??

do a full back up in itunes, not iCloud, then you can use backup extractor to get the files/sms/photos out of it

Would that not involve using the cable that's giving him bother? Im asking as I don't know and not that familiar with itunes

You can wirelessly sync with iTunes.
