Hello,

I have perhaps over 100 vinyl, small and large ones.
I've tried a few apps to check prices, but they seem a bit hit and miss and very slow.

It will mostly be 70s to 80s music.

I could sell as a batch, but a little worried I'll get ripped off, unless any of you know some trust worthy people or other ideas?

Depends on condition and popularity of the record, I would look through all the 12 inch ones are try to figure out what ones are actually worth anything by checking past auction site sales.

Nightmare really because people can be fussy about condition.

I can tell you now that you need to look for things like Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden, AC DC or other famous bands.
They can easily sell for £20+ each.

Try your local Boot Sale. I have no doubt that there will be resellers and collectors looking to buy what you have. Just don't let the resellers lowball you on price.

You can get the price of each from Discorg but it will take time and effort. You can even sell it on there but to get the most money you need to sell individually and will take a long time.

Yeah, had a look on discogs, very slow lol

I'm really stuck what to do, I doubt there's anything mega pricey in there, but there's so many, there might just be......lol

If you photo every record including front and rear cover. Then zip all the photos and send into Chat GPT, it will give you an inventory of what you have and highlight anything that could be valuable.

I did think about doing this, good to know it will work, as then it's worth doing!

Cheers

Chat GPT didn't like it, said all the photos were too small, but when I upload just a single one, its fine lol
Seems this just isn't a simple task!

Did you download picture in full resolution from the phone into a single folder, then zip up the entire folder and upload that zip file into ChatGPT? I've just done this with books I'm selling / clearing out and it worked well.

Yup!
Sat there for quite a while, then computer said NO

Tried on PC rather than laptop and its working, how odd. Cant see any reason why....

So far nothing over £50 lol, mostly under £10

Feel my agony.
By 1990 I had collected over 3000 vinyl albums and I ended up giving them all away.
Two blokes got at least 1000 each and they still do look after them.
The others got split to different friends depending on their musical tastes.
Liverpool Uni got over 300 Punk albums and singles when my Brother in Law carted them off.

Brought my mum's 7" player home, it's some cheapo thing, but going through some of the vinyl we played as kids, they sound sweet!

Tempted to get a 12" player, so I can play more of them!

I bought a 12" player.......lol
Instead of selling your records, now you end up buying more  .

In about 10 years time when you have to many to count, and think back wishing you just kept to streaming  .

BTW I can laugh at this as I'm in exactly the same boat with far to many records wondering where did they all possibly come from.
