I have a retail version of Windows 7 home professional that i pre-ordered from a retail store and has now arrived. Am I allowed to sell it on these forums?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure the MM rules state that retail is ok, OEM though is not :)

/goes to look

EDIT:
2.4.1 - The sale of copied games or other software, no matter how stated or implied, is not permitted, neither is the sale of OEM software. Licences of OEM Windows may be sold if they are still factory sealed or are sold with the motherboard they were first installed on. If you are selling a sealed OEM licence, there must be pictures to prove this but please blur any product keys.

Does'nt actually mention retail copies, though im sure they've said it's ok before in the past

thanks. I still use XP and just pre-ordered but now cant be bothered to use it so am going to sell on

I'd use it if i were you, it's definately worth it! i've been using it since the RC and now use the RTM at home and on my work PC

The only problem i've had with any OS since XP, and this is a very tiny problem, is playing crysis via steam

Why? I have an old pc and just use the net and play music/videos

Well i guess there isn't much point in an upgrade, but it would be generally nicer to use still, it's actually quite quick on old machines too!

Is it limiting when upgrading?

We're not allowing the sale of Windows 7 Licences above the value of the first pre-order price.

If someone wanted to sell it for £100, could they as long as they can prove they bought it for that amount?

Or are you saying, no Windows 7 sales greater than the £50 (or £45) preorder launch whether you paid £60-£70 for it or not?

What if he didn't buy it at the first pre-order price? Seems potentially unfair doesn't it?

Possibly, but to quote another member:

Kudos to OCUK Dons, it's not in the spirit of the MM to profiteer like this. MM is there for folk selling to other trusted OCUK members, not ripping them off.

I'm saying that later, at least for the moment. It's under constant review though.
