From today you can!

Send "TPS," followed by your email address, to 78070 to get on TPS database:

Wish I could stop nuisance texts, texting STOP doesn't seem to work much.

Oh and the 78070 isn't a free text number, no credit on my giffgaff so won't send despite having text allowance.

Didn't work with home phones so why should it work for mobiles?

Yes, I had a text back from TPS thanking me for registering, but that was approx. 4 hours after me sending the initial text

I assume this is just a more convenient way of adding your number to the TPS, as I'm sure I had already added my mobile number when I did my landline via their website a while ago.

Ah it's only been a couple of hours so far since I sent the text, guess I'll see if I get anything soon... hopefully not as long as 4 hours

EDIT: Text just arrived, around 2 and a half hours wait.

I (touch wood) get very few now anyway, and those that i do, go on the blocked caller's list. Including Vodafone who keep calling me as a customer of theirs to try and sell me broadband!

Oh I get those regular ...or used to till I blocked them now i just get odd text asking if I want voda broadband :rolleyes:

I used to get EE ringing me as a customer trying to sell me things. I asked them to stop spamming me, they said they weren't as I was a customer.. I said it's still spam if I don't want it!

Just done mine and got the confirmation text straight away. I also have a call blocker app that does a good job itself in blocking such calls but having this won't hurt.

Sadly this is only for spam calls, not spam texts.
