Send text to mobile phone from laptop?

Hi,
Can these sites that say they can send a txt to a mobile "dumbphone" from a laptop be trusted?

I am sure Windows can do that with my Android phone.

As for the website, they normally give a few free message, maybe with an Ad in there else you have to pay.

Yeah can definitely do it on android
Send from phone to pc and vice versa
But thats you sending to you
Which i guess isnt what youre attempting?

"Dumbphone"?
Whats that?
A mobile phone that doesn't have Internet capabilities?
And guess there's some sort of reason
For what you're trying to achieve?

I would wonder if you can trust them not to harvest the mobile number and sell it on.

I just email the phone number using their network’s SMS gateway and it shows up as a text. You just need the right email format for their mobile provider.
