My 2.5 year old 360 has finally died.

I have a shipping label from UPS but what box should I send it in?

Do you send them in their original box or find a different one?

Am I likely to get a HDMI system back?? Mines just component.

Just curious, thanks.

they specifically asked me not to use my original box tbh.

i just used any old box knocking around. they send it back in a cool box mind you.

make sure you kick off for compensation say the thing scratched your disks etc and get a free game or accessory.

youll probably get the same console back.

mine too 9 (including weekends) days from the day they took it to coming back.

The screen started flickering on it just before it died so I guess it's the MOBO/GPU thats gone?

I didn't think MS bothered repairing your original console?

It has chopped a few discs up. I did the fault logging process online. How do I add the disc scratching fault??:D

they all chop a few discs up. I argued a fair bit with them about it cos i was pee'd off it ruined a 3 day old game tbh.

I was under the opinion they didnt want to broadcast to everybody that you have an xbox 360 being parcelled around maybe because it looks bad to see a load of xbox's being shipped round repair yards, maybe because parcelmen thieve things i dont know :D

they replaced motherboard and dvd drive in my case which is pretty much the entire console and sent it back.

i just sent mine back yesterday using the white box inside the original green packaging. just pull it out and place your xbox 360 inside and make sure you wrap it around securely. it worked out great

I sent mine back in its original box, because thats all I had, which I did not get back.

So if you want to keep the box, then don't send your xbox in it.

Also I got a different console back. I believe that they ship you back an old console, which has already been repaired, back to you to speed up the process. Whether you get a HDMI version back I would have no idea.. Keep your fingers cross.

Also I am sure your aware, but never send any accessories e.g HDD with your console.

I used the original box just fine, it was very tatty when I sent it off so they sent it back to me in a brown card board box. :)
