Howzit guys

I would like to know. What is the best was to send a person a 'preview' of their new site that I have made. I don't want to send them a HTML page as they could easliy use it + not pay me.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

Hmmm, maybe. However I would like the customer to be able to go through the whole site, and see if it's what they need/want. :)

Great idea though.
Thanks. :)

Off the top of my head....
- Watermark all the images?
- Use one of those html scrambler scripts? If the guy needs to pay someone else to do a website for him, he won't know how easy it is to unscramble (even firebug will see the code as it should be). Also, you could put a comment in the html stating that it's your work and has not been paid for. Then if the guy just copies the scrambled code and uses it, you could take him to court. All you'd have to do is unscramble it to show the court your comments.
- Put it on cd and show it to him in person
- Have him sign a contract before hand agreeing to 'x' amount of money for services to be rendered.

Other than that, I mean, if you can see a website, you can get the code for said website. I don't think there is a lot you can do.

I would just create an image of each page and make it clear what each image is.

Showing them on person is probably the best way though, as they can play about with the site and you can show them specific features etc.

If you can't show them in person then either follow my suggestion or those from the post above.

Oh okay. I can run the whole site off a CD for them then. Take it to their place, and open it up in IE. Correct? That way they have no way of coping it, without me seeing it.

Thanks for the replies. :)

Clear his cache before leaving :p

Indeed, wait, no! the pr0nz....

Once I went to a client's place and used their computer to demonstrate a website we had designed, he was using Firefox, and there was something else that had to be done in Internet Explorer, so my friend loaded it up and the history pane was open with all the pr0n sites and filth that had been visited! - right for everyone to see :)

It's not very professional to use a clients PC, and it can cause all sorts of bother :)

Nobody touches my machine without my knowledge or permission.

Use your own laptop or provide the client with the data that THEY can use on THEIR PC.

You don't even need to worry about his cache if you use that mini app of firefox. The one that can be run from a thumb drive.

But as the guy said above, bring your own laptop. It's a lot more professional.
