sending messages

hi guys and girls....
I want to send messages over my network which consists of:-
1 x Laptop running xp pro
1 x laptop running vista home prem
1 x base unit run vista ultima

I am using a linksy wireless router and am on virgin media

how do I do this?

like netsend or something ....basicaly I want to just type a message and the other lap top just picks it up.

ie
me on the base unit:- put the kjettle on love
wife on laptop :- no do it youself

the messages just appear so no logging the message just appears.

As you're behind a NAT router, simply enable the Messenger service on all 3 clients using the services snap-in (start, run, services.msc)

Then use net send from the command prompt.

so how do I use net send
this is new territory for me
every time I google it just tells me to install different apps

just read net send isn't in vista is this right? Whats the work round?
