Hi, I want to send music played on one computer (A) to another computer (B) a maximum of 100 meters away (but preferably further). The music played on A should automatically also be played on B (if the holder of computer B so chooses), both computers are moving so it shouldn't be wired.

What hardware & software would you recommend I use for this? I am thinking of using a Raspberry Pi as the computer hardware.. the whole thing should be be able to be powered by a battery pack/accu so it should be low on power. It should also be cheap as possible.

I would imagine you would be best setting up a wireless network and connecting them together and just using file sharing. If you were using a raspberry pi, you'd just have to get a powerful wireless reciever and a powerful router or another wireless card to connect them up together. It would depend on your application more than anything!

However if you wanted to move them about and play them at the same time you might want to look at Airplay, the Apple standard... Rasbmc has built in airplay i believe, and if you can find a way to send airplay signals from A then recieve them on B which could be a raspberry pi running Rasbmc.
