Hi there,

I have a package that I need to send to Ireland.

Basically, I am looking for the cheapest service, without it taking months to get there.

The package itself weighs no more than 250g.

I have looked at airmail, but that looks quite dear considering the price of the item.

I have looked a surface mail, that looks ok on price, but will it actually get there?

Anyone had any experience with any of the like services?

Thanks.

Is it going to the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland? It can make quite a difference.

If it's going to Northern Ireland, use Royal Mail 1st or 2nd class post, it'll take the same amount of time as anywhere else in the UK.

If it's going to the Republic, send it by standard post as well. It'll cost a bit more but won't take more than a few days to get there.

Just realised the link doesn't work on another PC - sorry.
Yes, I think surface is pretty much the basic service and as I remember price does not vary as much with contents like airmail does.
I have used surface for parcels to Europe and USA. It is OK but can take an age to get there, then sometimes it takes just a few days.
Certainly not as consistent as airmail but never had anything lost that I sent.

Andrew
