Senior Network Engineer – Global Leader in Precision Radiation Medicine

This is a remote role (working from home) based in the UK.

Solely responsible for UK / Europe Operations and liasing with US colleagues, you will be required to be flexible due to time zone differences and the global nature of the business.


This is a customer facing and not just technical role where the successful candidate will have the maturity and presence as well as capability to communicate effectively at a senior level.

We are looking for a Microsoft Network VPN expert with Fortigate/Sophos knowledge.

Below are the Essential Duties you will be required to perform, and Technical Skills needed.

Essential Duties

· Support the design, installation, maintenance and monitoring of network systems in Microsoft Azure including switches, routers, firewalls, intrusion detection systems and switch and firewall-based policies.

· Support network initiatives, detailed network designs and deployments as well as coordinating technical issues with clients, vendors, and internal teams.

· Responsible for expert-level troubleshooting of any problems relating to networking issues

· Adhere to Cloud access-management incident response and change control procedures.

· Develop Cloud infrastructure project plan, technical specifications, design documents, roll-out and test plans

· Contribute to Cloud policies and process development using industry best practices

· Contribute to mentoring junior staff and knowledge transfer to Cloud Services team


Technical Skills (required)

· 90% of the role is dealing with VPN problems/complaints so this will be your expertise

· Microsoft Azure networking (NSG, VPN etc)

· Experience with networking protocols: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VRRP, HSRP, VPN, IPSEC, VoIP, and QoS

· Experience in WAN/LAN networking including routing, switching, security, load balancing

· Working knowledge of Enterprise Datacenter environment

· Knowledge of Fortinet / Fortigate firewalls preferred

· Experience with Cloud Networking technologies (Microsoft Azure)

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

· 5+ years IT experience with on-going skills development

· ITIL Foundation certification (preferred)
