Sennheiser CX300 Phones = Awesome

Probably a good call :)

If the HF-1 wasn't released when it did (i.e. when I was looking for a a headphones), I probably would've gone MS-2i instead. Maybe in a few years time I'll take a look at those GS-1000 :D

Although, I forgot to note that Koss also make Electrostatic headphones. Not exactly low end, but I have no idea if they sound good.

Are those UM2's worth the £140+ they cost?

Yes! They are the best portible headphones you can get! They have great bass that does not boom yet still keeps treble clear - they are ultra comthy as they lie in your ear and thereful dont boom while running.

I don't experience the problem with tapping the cable transmitting the sound to me ear on my E2c earphones, but I used to with the Sony EX-71s before they broke. I can hear my jaw moving though.

I thought all ear-canal phones boom while running?

No - the UM2s lye in the ear flat - booming comes from when the only contact the IEM has is with ear canal - the UM2s also rest on top of ear lobs...

There is no booming whatso ever with UM2s I use them in gym everyday.

Ok, I see. Does that mean you can't hear your breathing and heartbeat, like you can with EX71/CX300?

never! Actually I believe never putting IEM tips too far in.

The tips should not go in any ferther than putting your thumb in ** ear! Anymore and you get a slight pressure build up that makes sound quallity worse... and less bass and recessed highs.
