Sennheiser HD 579 mod

Picked up these headphones for £52 new yesterday, was reading in to them and can see you can remove a foam pad to make them just like the 599's. Anyone done this, that can tell me their experience?

probably the same as the mod that allowed you to remove the foam pad in the HD558 to turn it into the HD598 as they used the same drivers
