Not a request for advice, I just thought I'd share something. I received these today:
Got them from a german company that specialises in many Sennheiser parts.
Those earpads you see normally cost a ridiculous price over here of between £48 and £58, and the cable is £25 over here. From the german company, only £11 for the cable and £36 for the velour earpads. Plus shipping, total cost £55. Quite a saving really.
My earpads on my HD580's were completely saggy after several years use, and the cable was not working on on side. This is my third cable but I believe this one will be more durable. The 580's are great headphones, extremely comfortable and superb sound so I thought it was worth refurbishing them. Still a lot cheaper than replacing complete headphones of this quality. I'm considering replacing the foam in the headband too as that's gone saggy.
