Sennheiser PC360

Ordered a set of PC360's today & a fiio E5 to use with my x-fi Titanium HD today when they arrive tomorrow I will let you all know my thoughts/comments.

After I have had a good play with them that is.

Cheers

Why on earth did you buy an E5 when you have a Titanium HD? It has a built in headphone amp already, and likely a better one than the E5.

And for you guys with xonar cards and higher xi fi series cards aside from these settings in the xonar center or equal in xi-fi settings make sure you have windows speaker properties set to 24 bit 192000 Hz its marked as studio quality. This allows all programs ran in windows to use the higher sample rate not the default windows cd quality 16 bit by 44100 Hz. also do this for the micraphone set it to 192000 Hz by 24 bit and make sure to disable micraphone boost its really not needed and will degrade the quality on the pc 360 micraphone.
to do this go to control panal, sound, playback(recording for micraphone) select desired device usually speakers, advanced and then defualt format. This will allow you to change and get the best out of your hardware and headset cant stress how many people forget to do this.

the best settings in xonar control panal I found were the following

audio properties 6 channel
sample rate pcm 192 Khz
analog out set to headphone
spidf out only dolby headphone selected
and set to refernce room small no echo this is preset Dh-1

and roman 59 you dont need a e5 for your sound card the (hd) means that you already have a built in amp so e5 is useless to you.
Unless you wanted to use the e5 as aportable amp for phone/ mp3 player handy things to have around.

The PC360'S have just been delivered, sitting here on my desk.

Stuck at work at present, but will try them out later when I get home, happy days :)

Cheers

My 350s are modded and have been since I had them, never had a problem and the sound quality is improved with the mod.

Hey all

Had a good session with the Sennheiser PC360 last what can I say really impressed with the sound quality straight out of the box.

Played World of Wacraft using it for 3 hours last night, there are sounds in there like background chatter in the main citys that I never heard before.

Really comfortable headset to wear, it may seem an odd thing to say but with the open backs you don’t feel so closed in while wearing the headset.

Bass is really good (not too overpowering) & the trebles are nice and crisp.

Running it through my X-Fi Titanium HD with a small amount of bass boost, sound quality on speakers & microphone is set to 24 bit 44100hz studio quality, using Creative CMSS on games & switching it off for my music collection in itunes.

The mic is crystal clear using Teamspeak too.

In my opinion it was a worthwhile purchase & hopefully once the headset has worn in a bit it will sound even better.

Cheers

is 44100 hz the most your card can handle ? seams low for a high end card compared to the xonars

judmann I use ventrillo when play battle field bad company 2 and world of warcraft and my directional audio is fine when svn is on. what id suggest is switch on smart volume monitor (svn) that should fix the overpowering sound from teamspeak. to enable it on your d2 go to xonar panal and just under the volume dial are 2 buttons SVN and mute. SVN make sure its enabled it will have a blue glow it reduces sound that is to loud and increases quiet sounds to bring a uniform volume. it really helps when using VOIP like teamspeak and ventrillo so u dont hurt your ears going from booming sound to suttle game cues. hope that helps bro it did for me.
