ignore all of the above ( unless it spec's this car coz i cant be arsed to read through all the " buy a mondao v6 " comments from fox)

Just spotted this. When you posted that junk, I'd not even posted in this thread

Where will this guessing what I've said and getting it wrong ever end? ;)

I can't find a sensibly priced 5dr GSI anywhere near to me, or I'd love to take one for a test drive. A friend of a friend's supposedly got a V6 SRI up for sale, so I can hopefully try that out, and hope it feels better to drive than the 2.2, shouldn't be hard!

Thanks for taking the time to expand upon your experience of the car, much appreciated. :)

Test drove a V plate ST24 today, was much more impressed by it than I was by the Vectra, although that's slightly unfair on the Vectra as it was only a 4 pot.

Hardly any rattles, picked up nicely, still not exactly fast, but the fastest I've driven so far, nice. :)

Mates Vectra sold at the weekend too, typical!

Bought the ST24, pick it up later on this week! :D

Good lad :D

Good haggling point - one which I should've used  - is to check if the IMRC is working. A new one from Ford is £140.

This is the Inlet Manifold Runner Control that opens up the secondary inlets at approx. 3500 RPM. Take it for a drive, wait till warm, and hit about 30mph in 2nd (revs should be about 3000 RPM). Floor it. There should be a nice grin on your face as the secondaries open up and that rev counter needle flies round toward the redline.

If it's not working, you may find the car struggling to get over 5000 RPM.

If you knew this already, then I hope I served as a reminder ;)

Hope it's as nice as it looks!

There definitely appeared to be an extra little surge of power above 3000/3500rpm, and it revved all the way to 6000rpm relatively easily, so hopefully it's working OK! :)

I always wanted a Radiant Red ST24. Nice car, hope it serves you well :)

Any questions with it then post them up as between myself and a few other members I am pretty sure we know them inside out.

Good choice, resistance is futile :p. There's an S reg saloon for sale near me for £2k, so seems a decent price too :).

MEG is fordmondeo.org, yeah, fancy de-tangoing it yet?

It's just the side repeaters, they wouldn't stand out too much from that red, but it's pretty bad on most of the other colours, especially the Imperial/Racing blue on mine. Hard to tell from the tiny picture in the advert, but they might already have been changed for clear/smoked ones.
