Sent a text o the wrong recipient

Accidentally texted 'I love you' to my ex wife. Was intended for my current wife. Nothing was ever said about it.

Sent a rant about my now wife to a mate but accidently sent it to her, luckily you have 10 mins or so to delete a WhatsApp message

Didn’t know that, that must be a boon to “accidental” senders, and those with fat fingers.
I became acquainted with a long lost female cousin at a family funeral, and she asked for my phone #, and WhatsApped me, asking me to fill in gaps in my life, that she was unaware of.
I mentioned that I’d spent time in Poland in the mid 70s, and she asked, “why Poland?”
I told her that I’d met a drop dead gorgeous Polish girl at that time, was struck by “un coupe de foudre”, and left my wife and kids, and moved in with her, subsequently being divorced by my ex wife.
I told her that I’d always felt bad about it, as my ex wife was a beautiful person, and a loving mother.
After hitting send, I realised that I’d sent it to my younger son.
I immediately WhatsApped him to apologise for my error, begging him to put it down to my probably becoming senile, he replied, “Forget me, you silly old blank, you should be apologising for ever to Mum.”

I send e-mails by mistake to the wrong people as well...:o

My worst thing I do a lot is hitting the auto replies by mistake on facebook messages ...

Been on one side of that before - girl I was lets say involved with - knew she'd been seeing someone on and off but no idea she was in a relationship and she didn't let on - sent a bunch of texts while drunk to her BF that were supposed to be to me = fireworks.

Never sent a text message to the wrong person before but I did once send an email to the intended person (in a professional context) where I thought I had copy and pasted from a document and in the same motion clicked send - only due to a bug what was on my clipboard was the content of a private conversation with someone else who was going through some problems in their life :( ooops.

It all too easy. In my uncles case he ended up in a small flat after being disowned by his family, started drinking at his local pub, ballooned up in size and is now an alcoholic.

One the people I work with send a really kinky & sick porn video to everyone in his contract list by mistake somehow....

I couldn't help laughing for ages..:D Bet he had real fun explaining it too his daughters..:D:D

I can't remember if he did it through phone txt or facebook or whatapp etc

I once sent a text that I was going to destroy a woman's chocolate starfish. I sent it to my mom by mistake.

I meant to send it to your mom

Had a work colleague who (setting the scene) had spent a few days away in a hotel room on business and when he got back used his laptop to do a presentation he'd put together about it on a big screen infront of most of the staff - cue his media player resuming the last video he'd been watching for all to see...

My best mate was seeing a girl, living with her in fact, and had been for a couple of years. On the surface all was well. However, one night at the pub, he began to confide in me that he actually had feelings for someone else (and had done for a very long time, probably 3 or 4 years) and generally wasn't that happy with the way his life would probably end up if he stuck with his current gf.

He further went on to message me later that evening after quite a few pints, more of the same stuff expressing his feelings about his situation. Except he accidentally sent it to his current (at the time) gf.

It ended predictably, although he got together with the other girl and eventually married her. Still, bloody awkward few days for him there. Nothing I've accidentally sent comes close!

I had a colleague who upon receiving an email from a client that was copied in to our boss, replied to our boss "I can no longer work with this clown, he's a complete ******". Or at least he thought he had replied to our boss, he'd actually hit reply all.

Oh how we laughed.

What can I say, it happens.

That's why I've stopped doing the wrong thing or slagging off people. No risk of anything awkward getting to anyone unintended :p

I haven't sent a text or email to a wrong recipient, but I did once send £200 to a wrong recipient. I checked the bank details before sending it...but I checked them against the bank details of a different person, one who I'd transferred money to before. Rather foolishly, I'd made a note of bank details without attaching names to them. All worked out fine in the end - I told them what I'd done and they transferred it back.

I try not to send anything in text that I wouldn't be OK with anyone reading. Mistakes happen.

I've done this, me and my waitress friend from work have a code name for the boss, 'FC', which stands for 'Fat Controller' from Thomas the tank engine, a message that was intended for my friend went to the boss instead and it was obvious I was talking about him, he called me back straight away and was adamant that 'FC' stood for 'Fat ****' lol

I have a option enabled on my new phone that sends the messages after 10 seconds after you press send so you can stop if you want.

Never done it, although had it happen to me a few years ago.

I became aware that the initial of my first name might be the same as the initial to the girlfriend of a guy that worked for me when he sent me a picture of his erect penis which he had magic markered along the shaft ' 4 U BABY'.

I never mentioned it to him, and he didnt mention it to me either.
