I bought another 2x2GB of memory to go with the 2x2GB I got when I built my PC in Jan. The original RAM is CMX4GX3M2A1600C9 rated at 1.65V but although what I ordered online was listed as the same I've been sent CMX4GX3M2B1600C9 rated at 1.5V. There's a lot of confusion about what voltage the B models are meant to have as some have been labelled 1.65V and Corsair employees have said on forums that it is meant to be 1.65V...whereas retailers have said that Corsair contacted them saying that 1.65V is a mislabel .

Does anyone know for definite what voltage CMX4GX3M2B1600C9 is meant to have and if it is 1.5V shall I just send it back as my current RAM is running at 1.65V?

What platform?

On 1155 Sandybridge you should be running the RAM undervolted at 1.5 anyway.

Voltage aside preferably you want to closely match RAM but the only real way to see stability and compatibility is to chuck it in and see.

Just checked my XMS, same as op's memory CMX4GX3M2B1600C9, running mine at 1.5v without any issues.

There was something about this on the Corsair Forum, memory has been tested at 1.5v & all was ok.

I have a simular issue. I've changed the bios to run in XMP but i'm not sure if need to up the voltage to 1.65. I have the 4gig sticks x2.

Anyone help

Ta.

Out of intrest I've just change to XMP in the bios, it defaults to 1.65v, running 4x4gb sticks, changed to back to manual, & it runs at 1.5v without any problems.

Thanks for the replies.

Yeah I'm on 1155. So I'll be fine using both pairs at 1.5V and 1600MHz? Because if there's any doubt I'd rather send them back and get an identical set to the originals seeing as the retailer mislabelled the product.
