I remember eating huge bowls of ramen noodles, and couldn't get enough of the BBQ steak-on-a-stick from street vendors (is there a Korean name for that?)..
Dog?

Balddog and co are probablygoing to kill me for this post

*groan* And they thought I was bad. :p (LOL at the other comment, too). :D

There were rumours that dog was a black-market delicacy, though. It wasn't something you could get legally on the streets. But the people I was with insinuated there was a reason you never saw any stray dogs. :)

edit: was it Bulgogi?

I had a lot of fun haggling prices with the local shopkeepers, something you just can't do here in the US (well, not to the same extent, anyway). .

hehe the funny thing is, that never happens anywhere else but the military areas..The koreans think the americans expect that so they put up the prices and allow them to haggle...

Bulgogi is beef but its very small strips..Its kinda shredded...Its very sweet

Im not sure what would have been on sticks...could have been anything hehe...

There were no stray dogs because its a modern city and they have dog catchers...

Looks like it was Bulgogi, just served in a different style. It was beef cut into thin strips, marinated, and stuck on a skewer so it wouldn't slip through the grill. Then it was served on the skewer and you could ask for a little extra marinade for dipping. We'd go through tons of those during a night of drinking. :)

Only picture I could find:

You sure it was meat mate? Ive never seen bulgogi on skewers like that...Not on the street anyway...Were they tent type things at the side of the road? Could you get these really hot rice cake things as well?

This is kind of what I remember. They served all sorts of different stuff (including beer) and sometimes had benches around them. On one side was a big grill where they'd throw on anything you asked them to, including bulgogi.
