Separating Frozen Meat

i decided once to chip off the excess ice around the edges of the freezer using a chisel and hammer. worked well until it pranged the metal inside of the freezer and gave me a face-full of freon gas... needed new freezer after that :(

I managed to separate the pork shoulder, but the pack of chicken breast was too much. Literally couldnt even hack through it with a serrated knife it was so frozen. I'll have to cook it all in one go. Any suggestions!?

Hi,

You can buy a "Freezer Knife" which is the only knife recommended for handling frozen meat.

It is in essence a particularly vicious looking bread knife, with large teeth.

Using any other knife will probably snap the blade.

The brand Gustav sell a good freezer knife and it is relatively inexpensive as far as German knives go.
