Hi guys,

How do I install the required Serial drivers for a laptop’s hard disk during a Windows installation? I have the drivers on a browser-able CD but they don’t read during installation – I think I need to extract them first!

I don’t have a USB/floppy drive?

Any ideas ;)

Cheers,

SW.

It's going to be for a XP installation -

I've tried doing Slipstreamed discs before an they've never worked :(

Are there any good guides out there you can recommend?

Cheers,

SW.

Download a copy of NLite, it's a wizard based tool for creating a slipstream install CD. It's dead easy to use, lets you incorporate drivers & patches, specify the product key, set all the regional settings, the whole nine yards. The only thing I had trouble with was creating users, it seemed to mess up the password setting bit.

I integrated the Raid driver okay and made the bootable iso, but when I go through the Windows installation, I press F6 to install a drive at the first prompt and hit S to specify, but it still asks for the Floppy drive?

Is there any way to specify another location

Cheers,

SW.

If you've integrated the drivers you don't press F6, you should see them being loaded along with all the standard storage drivers during the intial stage of the install. Once you're past the license agreement etc the disk should be visible to the installer.
