ok so have my new build up and running

gigabyte rev 1.0 ud3r
1000 w corsair psu
i7 930 @ 4ghz
6 gig patriot viper
300gb raptor
windows 7 64

now im having to use my old 7800gt`s for gfx till my 5870 comes in stock and jesus i used to run cod4 pretty much maxed out with those cards on an usus a8n sli premium with 2 gig corsair xms and a 3700 san diego but now it runs like a bag of **** !!!!!
any ideas to what the problem is people all drivers seem to be ok

Have you installed the motherboard chipset drivers? If you haven't, that may be your problem.Sure it is not a graphics driver problem? Some more info would be nice as we might be able to offer more specific help. Is the system generally working ok, and are your windows updates up to spec????

system seems to be working ok yeah, drivers for gfx are the latest from nvidia,everything in device bit seems ok and windows is all up to date im pretty gutted to say the least what else would you like to know mate?

Are you running two graphics cards or one - if sli maybe there is a driver problem as far as the Sli goes - just a thought. Maybe try running one card at a time to make sure both the cards are in fact ok. Also I notice you are overclocked at 4Ghz is that right? Try running at stock speeds to see if the problem is still evident. What do you mean exactly when you say it runs like a bag of ..... what is happening during the game - freezing or just slow frame rates???

Edit - Or as suggested above, try different drivers.

Some nvidia's latest drivers have been flakey,they are solid drivers.
Maybe post in the graphic card forum too,there are some very knowledgable folks in there.

yeah running 2 cards i know the cards are fine i was using them just before i built this set up last week
i am running it at stock speeds atm anyway as just wanted to see what like without the oc on!

yeah pretty sh*tty frame rates mate have had to lower the res down from 1680x1050 and normal settings textures etc never had to do that before and it just runs a bit jerky looking to me i will uninstall the cards and drivers and try these new ones in a min
