Well my overclock went sour the other day so running on stock settings. I've been trying various FSB's which I'll go into once I've fixed this problem. I think I've knackered my windows install (well that's what it's telling me) so I've booted into my Windows disk however it's just a black screen. I've left it 15 minutes and just a black screen. This is all at stock and I've tried it multiple times. What's left to do?

Finally got the board to boot into the CD and got into the repair console. Wasn't exactly sure what commands to use to repair my installation. I've done FIXBOOT but that hasn't worked. The windows disk freezed a couple of times aswell and also told me flpydrive.sys was corrupted or something? Also when trying to boot into windows it told me ntlkrnl.sys was corrupt aswell.

If you can boot off the cd, don't go directly to the repair console...

Boot off the cd, load any drivers if you needed them initially (F^ ones I mean)...now where it says press enter, or R for repair console, press enter...Then it should look for previous installs, if it then finds one, click repair on that screen, as it will then attempt to "fix/re-install" windows, but should keep all of your files as well...

Try giving that a shot, it sometimes works...but it's entirely upto you. What I said above is how I kinda remmeber it, only done it once or twice so it may be slightely different to how I've said it.

Can't even get into the CD now, I've tried about 50 times trying to boot but it always freezes when it loads a file at the bottom or tells me that a file is corrupt or not found. This is really annoying me now, there's absolutely nothing I can do and I have a £1000 paperweight in my room.

Well, what's changed on the system for it to not suddenly boot from the cd like you said it was before? Have you changed any bios setting's or anything?

I suppose you don't have a seperate windows disk a hand? :)

Sounds like you havew killed some part. Possibly memory. Run mem test, try swapping out ram sticks and see if it allows a boot then. Corrupt files I have found are caused by faulty media or faulty ram. My guess is the latter as you have had problems with hd as well as cd
