Hi guys,

Im just playing with Server '03, DHCP & DNS.

But i have a question.

I have configured my IP scope for the DHCP to be in the 10.0.0.# range and i have 2 clients connected to the domain with the DHCP giving out IPs and gateways correctly.

In the Address pool of the DHCP it shows the 2 clents to have taken 10.0.0.10 & .11 which is corrent.

When i open the DNS windows it shows my 2nd client to have .11 but client 1 to be using .2

Why hasnt it updated to the .10 that it is using now?
I had it configured on .2 prior to using DHCP.

I have a screenshot to show the problem:

The lease time for the DHCP is 8days, is it just a matter of waiting for the lease to run out and the DNS will then be updated?

Thanks in advance.

p.s. i hope this made sence lol :D

I assume both machines are in the domain?

have you tried rebooting the workstation?

are there any errors in the server or workstation event logs ?

Both clients are in the domain.
Reboot has been done and no change.

Event log shows a few errors

Just going to try ipconfig /registerdns
