Hi,

I've just bought another server license off the auction site ao I can have a proxy server as well as my main server. It was advertised as being brand new, unopened with COA and 5 CAL's which it was except there was no COA. Inside, it has become apparant the it was supplied with a Dell server and the COA is attached to the back of the server. Basically, because I have all the paperwork and licensing details, do I have any claim to the COA license or not? Should I just ring Microsoft?

Thanks

Ben

You've spent money for media dude, no license there. Money down the drain.

Though tbh, more fool you for going to the bay for software.

That's not the point, I was told that the COA was in there. Doesn't matter anyway, the seller has just emailed me saying he will refund it :D

Thanks anyway

Good thing too. Without the COA you just paid for the paper and media. The software itself is (legally) worthless.

Even with the COA, it still may not be legal.

Never buy software off ebay.

Forget 500 notes for a 2003 license, slap a Linux flavour on it and get squid/squidGuard installed. Completely free, everyones smiling.
