Hi Everyone,
I am currently working on upgrading a server for a friends company. He has an HP Workstation xw6000 server (Xeon CPU) currently with a 132GB Fujitsu SCSI drive inside. This drive is filling rapidly and so he has asked me to look into upgrading his working storage and also propose a back up solution for them (they currently use an external HDD [usb] which is taken off site each day.) I am hoping for some answers to the following questions ifanyone can help...
Are SCSI still considered the best choice for Server storage? (if so can anyone recommend a good SCSI drive to buy for the server.)
If SCSI are superseeded by anything then what should I be looking at to put in there.
Are there any better solutions to backup which are low cost (rules out tape)..
I know this is asking a lot of questions but I am hoping that I'll be able to answer some of them from the expertise on here.
Thanks in advance...
