Server issues?

Goddamn it! :p

From about 9am one of my SMP clients can't get work :( Tried s restart but no go. First time in a very, very long time I have seen Stanford not have enough work

EDIT: Yay, just picked one up as I finished typing :D

One of the SMP servers only has 175 WUs available. The other has a massive 7.

I'm on 99% complete... watch this space...

I just got back and am currently folding.. but checking the logs briefly, it was a 30min wait for this one :(

Also I'm about to have some downtime, just as my average PPD was picking up
Got to send off all three RAM sticks to OCZ apparently :(
It could be some time, the RMA address being on the continent, I might have to try and buy a single stick or something just to keep me running, if I can find one going cheap somewhere, but I'll be down for a few days at least.

The stakes are increasing, we're up to 19% now ;)

I really need to tidy this place up, that might take as long as half an hour (~10%), after that I'm unplugging my computer. Tick tock, tick tock :p

My SMP client has been having some hiccups throughout the day! I have a little Win7 gadget that shows my CPU usage and I notice when my CPU is idle - all the coloured bars vanish. Every time it drops between WUs I watch it like a tinfoil hat wearer daring it to fail to get work lol.

Pfft this is getting silly this sort of thing doesn't happen with Stanford this is more like Borkley's doing's

Edit: Hurrah 03:00am no work 04:46 one finally gets through

I must have a pretty good work server as I have only had downtime a couple of times in the last few days. Probably lost a total of 4 or 5 hours at most.

Still, I can see how aggrivating it is for others who seem to wait after every other WU! It is indeed shocking Stanford have a shortage of work. Perhaps even they under-estimated just how productive their clients are these days!

SMP2 client has been trying to get work for 9 hours now, no joy. Bigadv is still going strong, I did lose 5 hours work from accidentally turning it off and not realizing :o

Not sure when they will fix it. Their pixies need to hurry up and mine some more WUs for us to crunch!

A restart sometimes helps to grab a WU. Changing machine ID might bump you to a different work server too.

try with -advmethods explicitly as an argument in the cmd line some have reported that will bump you to another server. I know its in the configonly setup but worth a try.
