Server issues?

Peter Kasson has just put projects 6050 through 6052 online in order to alleviate the SMP2-side of the recent and widespread unit shortage.

Projects 6050 through 6052 are available to those running their SMP2 client with the -advmethods flag enabled. They are distributed by the server at 171.64.65.54, and have the following specifications:

* Project 6050: worth 481 points, and given a bonus factor of 2.1. It is comprised of 70,777 atoms, and should preferably be returned within 3 days of download, but no later than 6.
* Project 6051: this project's superficial properties are identical to those of 6050, with the exception that it is comprised of 77,062 atoms.
* Project 6052: as per above, but comprised of 77,047 atoms.

Other projects of this type should be released shortly.

Nice :D. Just about to complete a 6051 WU. Getting a little over 8 mins TPF from a pair of dual core Xeon 5160's in a Linux VM.

I've just decided I'm going to give SMP2 a go on the rig in my sig to find out what kind of PPD it will produce and I had no problems grabbing work with the -advmethods flag.

I find the A3 SMP2 WU's can give up to 17K PPD on a reasonably overclocked dedicated i7.
Q6600 gets around 4-5K if clocked to 3.0+Ghz. Not sure what an Athlon II would get but a 2.1Ghz C2D gets around 1.5-2K PPD

HFM reports PPD as 2331 inculding the bonus which I wont be getting due to it being my first SMP unit, and withou bonus it comes in at 600ppd

I'm currently on a p6012 and running 11m20s a frame

The little 240 is running at 3.6ghz ath the moment

Sounds about right, a c2D at 2.1Ghz does about 15.30 per frame so you are smack in the middle or running like a faster c2d which is good.

Both GPU's now failing to get work hope this is just a blip cos its been a few hours now :(

 my gpus seem ok for the last 24 hrs, no delays in getting work.

Mine used to regularly get 17K PPD on 4GHz. Unfortunately I have been getting a lot of the suckier 6014s which only get me about 14K :(

My Q6600 is at stock and often gets between 3.8 and 4K PPD, depending on non-suckage of WU of course :D

Yeah that sounds about right, give or take a few hundred depending on WU. I have a Q6600 at stock and am getting 4249.11 on a P6012, but my Q9650 at stock gets around 6K

This computer is going to have a short life i have been doing a a1 unit for 24hrs and now it tells me it cant send it i have had enough of this rig giving me grief over the last few days i just don't need it :(:(:(

Its doing fairly well for a dual I started on uniproccessor clients as I didnt think SMP was for anything less than a quad, glad I switched now.

Its getting really tempting to pick up a Phenom II dual for the chance of unlocking and the likelyhood of a higher overclock as I'm both memory and mobo limited, or possibly dumping a GTS250 Green in there but that ups the power usage by a lot more and its the girlfriends parents footing the bill for 'lectric on the rig
