Server PSU Heat

Hey guys!

Just a quicky.

I've been running a server in my room constantly for about 3 days running now and everytime I open my door I feel like I'm walking into a sauna! Found the cause of the problem, there is quite a lot of heat coming out of the PSU. Is this normal after leaving a PC running for 72 hours? I'm not overclocking the rig or putting any kind of strain on it.

generally alot of heat comes out the psu as it takes the heat out of the case aswell as the heat the psu itself generates. what your temps?

While I was installing windows, programs etc it was at about 50 degrees centigrade. But iirc its idling at about 45.

Edit: I have no way to check atm as I'm remote desktopping into it.

PSUs always generate heat, I'd assume its probably about 60-70% efficent but if the PC is drawing 100W which it probably is then its drawing another 30/40W which is then expelled as heat. 30W/hour = 300W/10 hours which is quite alot..

Put it on a timer TBH. Start when you wake up and shut down whenever you go to bed.
