Server racks

Orion will do you a new Value 42U 600 x 1000 for £380+VAT. They normally build to order so takes a week or so to arrive. Quality isn't bad but perhaps not as good as a Prism.

Thats cracking! Thanks for that, do you have any other handy websites for a budding sysadmin? :D

I pay around £600 + vat for APC Netshelter SX racks, though I have bought a few over the last 12 months!

I tend to use Toughrack as they're based in London (Office in Farrington, production is down in Luton - delivery is rapid).
The best thing about them is being able to get any size of rack, which is great in an emergency where the 42U Dell rack won't fit in the lift because the project manager didn't measure the lift entrance as well as the lift itself...

That means you miss out on the fun of having to strip a cabinet down just to get it upstairs...

I have been here before.... I was asked to move a periphonics IVR from the loading bay to the first floor. This thing weighed in at a little under 500Kg and wouldn't fit in the lift, so I had to empty the contents and strip it down, then found the sides wouldn't even fit in, so had to manually carry the whole lot up 3 flights of stairs. :(

Yes, that's the company called Orion I linked to in post #5.

Have sourced quite a few cabinets from them. As previously mentioned they usually build to order so lead time can be a week or more.
