I renamed a workstation on a domain, and when an application was run it couldn't operate correctly, as it couldn't communicate with one of our servers. I left it alone, and after a week, it sorted itself out and now the application runs as it should. I'm thinking this is to do with the time it took for the server to pickup on the workstations new name!? My brain is fried this morning, and i can't think of the word to describe this process, but basically i'd like to decrease the time in which it takes the server to pickup on workstation names. Can anyone help me out?

Instantly. As soon as i loaded AD after the workstations had restarted, they were displayed under their new name.
How many DCs/Sites etc?
we have 8 DC's across 2 sites.
