Set Up Question (P5Q - but probably the not board specific)

Hi

Just setting up may P5Q-E and have a couple of questions:

1 There are two lots of SATA connections. A bank of red ones and a pair of orange and white ones. Which ones should I use for the HDD and SATA DVD?

2 Should I set the BIOS to use AHCI before loading anything else?

3 Do I want to enable plug-and-play in the BIOS? I'll be running Vista 64.

Use the red SATA connectors, the orange/white ones are for Drive Expert which can be a pain so avoid.

If you set the BIOS to AHCI then you may need to add the Intel Matrix drivers using F6 during the inital boot and load of Vista from DVD.

I enabled plug and play but it should work either way as the mobo should sort out the settings for devices if plug and play is disabled.

How will I know if I need the IM drivers? Are they on the mobo driver disk?
