Apologies for the slightly late news today, but I was involved in an online whisky tasting with another forum I frequently participate on (hic!) :D

Berkeley have had problems this week with the air conditioning unit playing silly buggers, explaining why some of the numbers this week seem a little odd. Hopefully the issue has been fully resolved and normality (if there is such a thing with SETI!) has now resumed.

You are. Sort the table by RAC and go to page two, where you're currently in 26th place. If you still can't see yourself then you might need to do a full refresh there (Ctrl + F5) :)
 
Have read about your ongoing car woes MI. Am so glad it's working now as it's an absolute beauty :)

Toxic, don't forget that the CPU bottleneck with Einstein will purely be down to the fact that each GPU task requires one CPU core, so you physically cannot run more Einstein instances than you have cores (or logical cores if your CPU's hyperthreaded; you seem to have so much hardware that I have no idea what it is you have, let alone what you're running on what!).
 
A lot of the project is down for the weekly 3-day outage, so although the website is up the majority of services, including uploads and downloads, are offline and will be until sometime tomorrow.

Edit: Damn, too slow!
 
As soon as Borkeley sort their problems out and there's a stats update I'll do the news for the past week. It didn't seem worthwhile posting anything before that as the stats haven't updated for the past three days or so.

And Area 51... that rig looks like it's been taken out of some Mothership or other. Are you hiding something from us? :D

Which post's that? The only message I can see on the home page is their usual 'Every Tuesday morning (Pacific time) we begin a 3 day data distribution outage to blah blah blah', but I may well have missed one.

In other news, I'm just off to get me cup of tea and then cross me fingers that I can get hold of some SETI work for me idle graphics card... actually, before I do that, what's the current play with VLARs being sent to the GPU?

Took some time off crunching to spring-clean my rig, feeling that it might need it as it's not been done for a while...

Yep, it needed it alright. Sorry I have no pictures for which to display my shame, but one side of the CPU heatsink was wearing a fur coat, as were the GPU, sound card and just about every other piece of hardware in there, including the cables :eek:. Decided to take everything apart, remove the fur coats and put it all back together, with some cable tidying for good measure. That effort didn't work though, as apparently my motherboard doesn't like having cables being run underneath it and it refused to let the PC boot out of protest. Taking everything apart and putting it back together again - sans cables under the motherboard this time - worked, but then my BIOS decided to act the goat too and thought it'd have a laugh by resetting everything... so I've lost my 100% stable overclock and can't remember the voltage settings. So it's more time off crunching whilst I Prime95 the bugger to try to get it back to how it was.

I've always hated cleaning.

Oh.

Actually, I've temporarily stopped crunching (on all projects, not just SETI) so I won't be offering any resistance for the time being. Not that any resistance wouldn't have been futile... my fleet of one rig (er, not really a fleet that, is it?) would have been shot out of the water in no time at all by your veritable Armada, so stomp away good sir. I shall consider it a privilege to feel your size 11s trampling me into the dirt whilst I watch a saltire-shaped streak race past me :p
