SETI@home News Vol. 118 (02/01/2011)

Ive got 2x250's 4x460's 3x8800gts 512's a 8800gt 512 and a 260 running seti and dont think i will get to 100k:(

Would be nice to know the WU times from each card, i could swap some of the smaller rigs back to 32bit XP if it is that good.

I dont run any of those gpu's so cant help I'm afraid, you would think there would be some data on this somewhere but I'm not aware of any.

Quickly tho......

The follow can be said (approx):

2 x GTX470's: 75k over 3 days (WinXP Pro 64bit)
3 x GTX460's: 90k over 3 days (WinXP Home 32bit)
2 x GTS250's: 45k over 3 days (WinXP Home 32bit)

But there has been a fair bit of down time and my pending has risen from 2k to Pending credit: 107,911.86

Hope this helps

Should be higher than that? I get 17-18k on a 285 which should have less grunt than a 470, maybe it's just more efficient at seti. It doesn't half squeal (capacitor whine) when it's running seti though, nothing else makes it so loud.

I have a good idea of the output ppd of an sr-2 system for folding thanks to MR Biffas multithreadednuclearpoweredwotsit but anyone care to take a stab in the dark at potential output for seti?
Naturally it would have to have one or more gpu but i have searched high and low and need to get a better idea before i go ahead and make final few purchases.
Then on top of all that i started reading up on sandybridge/2600k cpu and the results on air so far were pretty impressive 4.5 on air with little effort, wouldn't mind having a tinker with the new efi bios on some of the Asus boards either.
So if anyone can offer any input on the seti potential that'd be great i just cant decide on final setup, sensory overload with all the new stuff coming out makes a it a tad harder.
Cheers for the input peeps :)

Hmm my Seti CPU usage has been at 60% since I have got back to it, As I was having the problems with instability before, I put it to use 60% and forgot to put it back to full usage what an idiot :o :( Also why am I up at 4:48 I'll never know :p

:D wouldn't worry about it as long as the late nights work for you, i get a lot more done at night nice n peacefull like :)

Can anyone help with this please. I use remote desktop to keep an eye on my Seti rigs. On a couple of them the GPU's become unstable and stop crunching when I establish the connection. They kick back in when I disconnect. Is this a known issue? It's only for a matter of minutes whilst I check things are ok, just a tad frustrating as I don't know why it's happening. :)
