As it is my first time doing the news doubtless there will be mistakes, i would like to get to the bottom of the single pc league i know i am missing some names, apologies to anyone who was not mentioned on the recent tiffy list give me a slap and will add you manually :)

It will get better as time goes on as allways any thoughts or opinions feel free to chip in.

Team output is looking good but also sad to see some big hitters drifting a little, best of luck to them and hopefully they will be back soon enough :(

Run SETI on a GPU? - Updated
Run SETI on only one PC? - Updated

Cheers Mr Marine, have grasped the basics and it should only improve - still think you were just showing off with all those tiffy's ;)

Cheers for the news, looking good :)

Is there anyway you can get the client to download more work and stock up, I'm always running out of cuda tasks?

Have you got a 10 day cache if not,

Go to your account and click on Computing preferences.
At the bottom click Edit preferences
And change the box called Maintain enough work for an additional to 10

I've just checked and I've got that set to 10 in the seti account, the boinc work preferences doesn't have preferences set at all. I'll check the client to see if there are any preferences set that could contradict it when I get home.

No way do I get 10 days worth of work cached at the moment though, I'm luck if I get an afternoons worth :p

I think that's it, revenge for all the times I said folding was better! :p

Ok I've just and cleared the local preferences and clicked to update seti, it was running the last few cuda tasks it had and after the update I now have 30 cuda tasks. I have 2 460s running 2 tasks each, and they take about 20min to run, 30/4 *20 /60 = 2.5 hours of work!

Lol how odd :D Maybe SETI just doesn't like you much :p

Harsh Mr Marine Harsh :D

I think that's it, revenge for all the times I said folding was better! :p

 Can't believe you would even think that ;)

I know i got most of the stuff done but it will look better next week, missed off the percentages bits an all blimey....oh ffffff fiddlesticks.

Might take a sneaky look at the foldy news see if i can pick up any ideas, have a good snoop around while i am there ;)

Think I found the reason why I wasn't getting much work, I'd run out of hard disk space :o, I've freed up 10gig and now have 55 tasks. What a plonker. :o

Excellent news Mr ToxicTbag, your good work is much appreciated.
Not sure about where your baseline started, but you have Mr Marine Iguana weekly dump as 191,000 but then give him tiffys for 4.25mil, 4.5 mill, 4.75 mill and 5 mill - something doesn't add up. So if he can have credit for all those, then I'm gonna show this ...:D

Evening Mr kolala sah nice tiffy!
have added you to the tiffy list. I just listed all tiffy's that had been posted in the thread since last news.
Duly noted and taken on board :)

Evening picnic your welcome sah, now correct me if i am wrong (and i have a feeling a may be more than once in the next few weeks) are you in the single pc league?
Will add you now if so :)

Good morrow to all you fine ladies and gentlemen (and Marine :p)

Looking good TBag.
One little gripe ( well you know me :D;) )would there be any chance of changing the Blue in the 'top twenty teams' and the purple in the 'Top of the Flops' sections it may just be me but they are quite difficult to read with the dark OcUK theme.

On a side note i've finally found the cause of the excessive noise coming from the second rig. All i took was a month plus of an annoying buzzing, the release of SP1 and finally clearing my cache for me to strip it down for a good cleaning/reinstall to find that one of the GPU fans was missing 2 blades  guess i should pay a bit more attention :(. Does anyone know of a air cooler that will fit a 1Gb Gainward GTX460 or if its possible to replace the fan only?? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Morning Mr Reaver sah!

Gripe away sah tis all good....thanks for pointing out the nasty shades have put em right :)

Glad you sorted out the noise just having a mooch and off to bed for me, wonder what Mr Loudbob is upto he's more than a bit quiet.....he'll turn up one of these days with some story of "oh i got buisy building a nuclear submarine" ;)

Guess the slight dip i will try and make up for in the next few weeks, if the next 4-6 months go according to plan i may well give Mr Herbert a run for his money ;)
