The new 6 core is overkill as it will not have that big effect on your output compared to GPU's.

Solid State Drives are not needed for crunching and some could have issues with overclocks especially if PCI lane is oc'd.
- wait for the Fermi's.

Other than making the motherboard as future proof as I could I dont even consider the cpu relevant to what we do here

I do grasp the point that the cpu is not the be all and end all i just thought a better cpu would let me work on it when needed as well as crunching.
