i asked mod gibbo about 3000mhz ram and the x370 taichi and he replied this

"It will work but you will need to setup the memory manual in the BIOS, so set it at 3000MHz, set basic cas timings and set voltage to 1.35v. See how it goes, if it does not run drop to 2400MHz and work up from there, though the Asrock's are performing very well indeed. They are like the wolf in sheeps clothing."

i didnt want to bother him about newb stuff so can someone tell me what he means specifically.

overclocking is not something iv bothered with except the simple auto overclocks on some boards where the bios does all the work and simple xmp for memory.

thankyou for any and all help

He simply means entering the primary timings manually as well as DRAM voltage. It's easily done, the kit has the timings on the box and modules.
so my memory would be corsair 2x 8gb ddr4 vengeance lpx 3000mhz and the modules have cas 15-17-17-35 1.35v on them and thats the settings i input manually. and if it doesnt boot i would just lower the 3000mhz setting and leave the other settings be?

thanks for ur help
