Hi I'm just setting up a new pc with a 128gb Falcon SSD. As this is my first use of SSD can some one tell me the settings to use on Vista 64 to get the best out of this drive.

I've just left the drive as one partition to install my OS & Apps. I've set firefox cach files to use my 1tb SATAII drive.

Can't help you, but interested in this myself... Can anyone link to a good guide for people new to SSDs, and how they should be handled differently from standard HDDs? Maybe a OcUKer would like to make a mini guide that could be stickied - I reckon a lot more people will go for SSDs in the coming months, as their price comes down, and Win7 is officially launched.

Right I have done the following:

Superfetch set to disable.
Prefetch set to disable.

Enabled clear page file at shutdown.
Enabled Large system cache.

Ntfs disable 8 dot 3 name creation set to disable.
Ntfs memory usage increased.

Defragment set to disable.

Pagefile set to off. (Have 6g of ram but using 4 due to duff module.)

Hibernation off.

Write cache enable.

System restore off for SSD drive and move to SATAII drive.

Hope the above is correct.

Just install Vista normally. It will pick a good offset. Then go to the OCZ forums to do the tweaks. Basically, just turn off prefetch, disable page file, and that's really all you gotta do. My Drive is basically the same as yours and it flies with vista ultimate 64x. I did nothing special during the install.

Yes never defrag,

Follwed most of the tweaks here

OCZ and Gskill falcons drives are identical on the inside so everything applies to the both of them (interchangeable software, utilities, support etc)
