Setting up a network

My mate has 2 computers, and he has broad band he wishes to share the internet for both his PCs, but dont want one of them to be switched on for the other one to go online. He has a USB ADSL modem, he want wireless , what else does he need to get to set up this internet share.

I'd say broadband goes the modem, from modem via cable it goes to a router (wireless enabled one) and then that goes to the two computers.

If he wants to use a router, he'd forget about the USB modem, and use either combined router/ADSL modem, or separate router and ethernet ADSL modem - majority/all routers won't work with a USB modem.
