I would still bother with SEO, if you want people to find you then you need to be searchable. It doesn't take too long for basic SEO and is worth it.
Also bang in analytics. It's going to show you the demographics of who is visiting the site (sex, age range, location etc) as well as how long they are spending there, what pages they are visiting and where they are coming from so you can see what advertising is working. Especially if you decide to go with PPC advertising (but you'd have analytics for that as well)
As for wordpress, you can turn off the blogging part, you just need to set it to a static front page.
