i have 1 on board graphics and a pci video adaptor card. both drivers are installed.

Now i'm using the pci video adaptor as monitor one and the default one is the onboard one.

It's all connected and the pci video adaptor card is recognised in the windows device manager.

problem is my second monitor the power light just keeps flashing. Thats all.

anyone think of the problem?

Fiddle around with the display options... you may also wish to download UltraMon, its a free trial IIRC, so you can at least see if that helps.

i've installed that program. its pretty good but the secondary monitor the monitor light is just flashing green:\

i think i need to solve that issue before i can move on. There maybe a fault with the connection but i cannot think what. both vga adaptors are plugged in accordingly and both monitors have power. what could it be?

I assumed you knew both monitors were working?

Have you tried plugging that monitor in to the other graphic card? and then the monitor you know is fine in to the second card?

Your other rmonitor might not like the resolution you are currently using. Try reducing the resolutions. This might just do the trick.

everything is working it was the video drivers were incorrectly installed. i downloaded the latest one for my onboard graphics and hey presto! so its all good!

thanks for your help people!
