I dint know if this is the right thread or not. What it is, I have my 20" LCD monitor, and a LG 19" television, and Im trying to set them up as a duel to play my games. Up to now all I'm getting is the sound out of my LG with the desktop of my system. Were my 20" Monitor is playing the game. I have DVI to the 20" LCD, were I have HDMI to the LG, i'm running the ATI 5670, and a Intel E6550 2.33Ghz CPU. Any ideas on how to spread the game across the two.:(

UPDATE

What it is, I have DVI to my monitor, and HDMI to my 19 inch television. Would i be right in thinking that i would need a "Y" DVI splinter to both, or "Y" splinter HDMI to both, to get the game running across both screens. If thats the case, then my 20" monitor which has a DVI, but does not have HDMI, and my 19" tele, has a HDMI, but not a DVI. So would I be right in thinking that I would need 2 monitors with HDMI or DVI for that.:(

I'm assuming you mean dual and splitter rather than "duel" and a "splinter" :p

You shouldn't need to split anything, providing both screens are connected, it should all be done from software/driver level.

You won't be able to dual monitor games with your set up, not even with a splitter cable unless both your monitors are the same resolution.

If you want games over multiple monitors, you're going to have to use screens with the same resolution if you're to use ATi's Eyefinity.

I would say dual monitor gaming would be very annoying, e.g. playing a fps your aiming point will be along the split between the monitors. Realistically you need 3 monitors to game well.

Thanks for that. My tele is a full HD, were my monitor is 1680x 1050.

It is posisble to stretch a game across 2 screens without using eyefinity. Look in the display driver's settings for something similar to Span mode (that was what it was called in the old nvidia driver back when i tried it with Doom 3 - it may have changed since then). ATI may have a different name for it, or may not support it now that they have eyefinity.

After you've tried it though, you'll probably give up - with two mismatched monitors, it's not going to look very good.

Surely with 2 screens (rather than 1 or 3) all the action and your gun sight etc is going to be right on the ..... the. ..... ang on, can't quite see it.

That only works in Windows XP.

Setting up 2 displays for gaming is definately *&&^*& (you might guess what I want to say) :) Exception is playing games like World in Conflict, where second monitor is a map, or Flight Simulator where you can open more windows on second screen.

Other games look like:

DOn't bother the 3rd monitor which utilises second card and is used for simple movie playing. If it were 1 ATI with EyeFinity, a game would be splitted into 3 displays.

Is it just me or would DOOLE monitor gaming look wierd? Center screen would be split in two halves. Would be hard/annoying to aim.
