I've recently bought a LG OLED C8 TV and was presented with a software update that after installing, prompted me that I could use Google Assistant on the TV.
However, I can't get the setup to connect and wondered if anyone has experienced something similar? A Google search returns nothing on the issue.
I'm told by the TV to prompt my device (in this case, my phone) to "set-up my assistant device". When I do this, a screen loads on the phone that searches for a device and the TV is duly returned. Upon clicking next, I'm prompted to confirm a pin that matches on both the phone and TV and this also happens. On the next phone screen, I'm prompted to give permission to share my Google account info with the TV which I accept.
The next screen then instantly tells me "There may be a problem", with the subheading "Something went wrong". That's it, not exactly the most helpful error message.
