Hi all. I want to set two of my hard drives up in RAID. I've not done this before so ive googled about and I think I know what to do, but would like some clarification from some more experienced people.

could someone roughly guide me through what to do?

I've had a quick look through my bios and I've seen in the advanced section where you change to RAID. But how does my system know what raid type i want? (I want 0). Also do I need to any drivers?

I have a MSI Global Z68A-GD65 motherboard.

Thanks!

Usually, once you selected the RAID option in the BIOS save and reboot, you need to press CTRL & I to launch the RAID array options and setup your disks.

Firstly, are both HDDs exactly the same, same capacity and model? In the setup RJC mentioned after booting you will select what it would be. If it's 0, both drives will be formatted and from this point onward they will be recognised by the OS (including the installation of the OS) as a single device with the combined capacity of the two drives. Similarly with other RAID modes according to their specification. Read the manual of your motherboard as well, there will be instructions how to setup a RAID.
